How It Works

If you have a conventional storage type tank water heater at home, hot water is sent from the heater to your faucet or shower. When you turn off the faucet, water remains in the pipes where it cools. When you turn on the faucet again you get the cool water that remained in the pipes instead of the hot water you are expecting. If your faucet or shower is far away from the water heater, your wait for hot water will be longer.

When you install a water heater circulating pump, the water that remains in the pipes when the faucet is off is sent back to the water heater thru the cold line making sure hot water is always available. Hot water is there when you need it.
